Vacation travel video about destination New York City in New York. New York continues to be one of the world’s most famous cities, a true world metropolis and major symbol of the American Dream. Manhattan Island is the city’s most well known district and the Rockefeller Center in Midtown is often referred to as the heart of the New York. Nearby the Roman Catholic Saint Patrick´s Cathedral is the largest and most magnificent church in the United States. The Grand Central Terminal divides Park Avenue and is a huge station with which the railroad kings, the Venderbilts, left an indelible mark. The huge hall, with its magnificent vaulted ceiling in Beaux Arts style, has been the city’s central railway station for twelve lines since 1913. The confines of Chinatown are inhabited by a hundred a...

Rockefeller Center (but avoid Top of the Rock -- too cold, too busy) for ice skating and tree selfies. 3. The Nintendo Store. Good gifts, but also a nice hideout from the cold 4. Saks Fifth Avenue -- windows and light show 5. Bryant Park's #WinterVillage - Check out the shops, more ice skating, Facebook has an installation, and it's less busy than 30 Rock. 6. Macy's! Go write Santa a letter and play on the big piano! I've lived in New York for nearly 5 years, and I still get super excited about Christmas here vs. basically anywhere else on the planet. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. The confines of Chinatown are inhabited by a hundred and fifty thousand Chinese from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, most of whom are unable to speak a word of English. Chinese characters wherever one looks and restaurants and Asian stores on every street corner. The famous Wall Street was named after a wall which in the early days protected the growing city against attack by Native American Indians. However, the roots of its subsequent claim to fame were laid in 1792. The young state desperately needed investment and therefore the powers that be decided to issue bonds. Close by, on a small island, is New York’s most famous landmark, the Statue Of Liberty. The head of Lady Liberty leads to the crown from which there are stunning views from several windows. New York City is most certainly unique. A city that’s very much alive and kicking, self-confident and always a surprise! -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. http://www.expedia.com/San-Francisco.d178305.Destination-Travel-Guides Leave the regular world behind when you step into the fog-swathed “City by the Bay.” From shopping adventures in Union Square to a trip on the city’s legendary cable cars, a trip to San Francisco is bound to leave you with incredible memories. Stop by Fisherman’s Wharf and indulge in its shops and galleries, as well as some of the best fresh seafood you’ll ever taste. Walk on the Golden Gate Bridge and take in the fresh sea air and views of the bay and Pacific Ocean. If it’s a more serene environment you’re after, pass through the stately architecture and flowing lagoon of the Palace of Fine Arts. Of course, San Francisco sightseeing isn’t complete without an excursion to Alcatraz, the island prison that once held some of the country’s most notorious criminals. Look into its empty cells and thick stone walls and wonder, could you escape “The Rock”? Visit our San Francisco travel guide to plan your Bay Area trip. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

New York is magical during the Holidays! Here are my favorite things to do in the city at Christmas time... 1. Rockefeller Center This is one of the most crowded areas in NYC at this time. Try to come early or late and avoid the crowd! 2. Sacks Fifth Avenue Light Show Right across the street from the Rockefeller tree is Sacks Fifth Avenue. Their holiday light show gets better every year so don't miss it! 3. Holiday Window Displays Start at the bottom of Central Park and walk down admiring the incredible Holiday Window Displays at some of New York's most famous stores: Barneys - 660 Madison Avenue between 60th and 61st Streets Bloomingdale's - 59th Street and Lexington Avenue Bergdorf Goodman - 754 Fifth Avenue at 58th Street Tiffany & Co - 727 Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets Cartier - 653 Fifth Avenue at 52nd Street Saks Fifth Avenue - 611 Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets Lord Lord & Taylor - 424 Fifth Avenue at 39th Street Macy's - Sixth Avenue and 34th Street 4. Macy's Believe Campaign Believers of all ages can bring their stamped letter to Macy’s addressed to 'Santa at The North Pole', and drop it into the special letterbox. You can also create and send a letter online at macys.com/believe. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1,000,000! Also, if you're looking to shop at Macy's. For the three days leading up to Christmas it is open 24 hours and it's nearly empty if you go late or early. It's almost unheard of to shop in a store that's not crowded at Christmas time in New York - so take advantage of it! 5. Holiday Markets New York's Holiday Markets are the perfect place to find a unique gift. With hundreds of vendors between all of the markets - you are sure to find something for everyone on your list. Some of the biggest markets are at Union Square, Columbus Circle and Grand Central Station. 6. Ice Skating Ice Skating in New York is a Christmas tradition! The best and most iconic ice skating rinks are at Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park and Central Park. 7. Explore! The best thing about New York is that you can walk everywhere. Take 'wrong' turns and see what magic you find. Little Italy is one of my favorite areas to go at this time of year. 8. Rooftop Bars Rooftop Bars are a must in New York any time of year. But don't be discouraged by the cold! A nice warm drink and some heat lamps make them a great winter activity - and a perfect date idea! Some of my favorites are 230 Fifth (location in the video), The Ides, Hudson Hotel and Refinery Rooftop. Enjoy your time in New York City! Try not to spend too much time shopping - there is so much magic to be seen in one of the most iconic places to be this time of year :) COME SAY HI :) Instagram - http://instagram.com/rayawashere Twitter - https://twitter.com/rayawashere Tumblr - http://raya-was-here.tumblr.com/ Snapchat - RayaWasHere

If you're coming to NYC for Christmas/The Holidays, this is a good guide for things to do for 2016. Here's the list: 1. Godiva for hot chocolate or coffee cause "baby, it's cold outside." 2. So many of my memories are of watching movies about the city, and now that I'm here I'd love to show you all the best places to go and things to do in Manhattan during this holly jolly time. http://www.expedia.com/Washington.d178318.Destination-Travel-Guides Take in the many splendors of the nation’s capital when you arrive at Washington, D.C. Your Washington, D.C. tour should start at the National Mall, where you’ll find monuments, memorials, and government buildings instead of tons of shopping. If you’d like to get around town easily but don’t want to rent a car, the Capital Bikeshare program will let you cruise around the city without wasting gas or getting stuck in traffic. Check out the Watergate Hotel and Kennedy Center when you stop at Foggy Bottom, then move on to Georgetown, the oldest district in D.C. It’s filled with 18th-century buildings and, of course, the university itself. After a stop at the National Cathedral, make your way to the Smithsonian National Zoo, the perfect stop for the young and the young at heart. If you’re feeling the need to channel your inner 007, go to the International Spy Museum, and learn about the covert operations and intelligence agencies that have shaped the world we live in. Of course, you can’t enjoy any Washington, D.C., tourism without admiring the White House, so make sure that’s on your list too. Visit our Washington, D.C., travel guide page for more information or to plan your next vacation! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

http://www.expedia.com/Paris.d179898.Destination-Travel-Guides Paris, the capital of France, attracts 42 million visitors a year. You can start your Paris tour on the metro, on foot, or with a taxi or bicycle; the city is easily navigable on all fronts. Visit the Arc de Triomphe in the center of the city and marvel at its graceful lines and commanding presence. Built between 1806 and 1836, the Arc is one of a number of historical arches and landmarks peppering Paris. If your Paris sightseeing includes purchasing souvenirs, head to the Champs-Élysées, home of boutique shopping, numerous restaurants, and many bars, along with a theatre and other entertaining venues. Learn about culture and creativity at the Louvre, a 14th-century palace turned art museum, and check in on the Mona Lisa and her mysterious smile. Notre Dame Cathedral cannot be missed, as this imposing Gothic structure has stood since 1345. Speaking of imposing, the Eiffel Tower is most frequently used to represent Paris. Stroll beneath it to get a good idea of its height, or travel to the top for a stunning view of the City of Light. https://www.expedia.com/Monaco.d6050648.Destination-Travel-Guides Fabulously wealthy and gilded by history, the Principality of Monaco lies on the French Riviera in Western Europe. Smaller than New York’s Central Park, this graceful destination is bordered by France and the sparkling Mediterranean sea. With ancient streets full of exotic cars, a natural harbour filled with super yachts and a glittering royal legacy, Monaco is a tiny relic of medieval Europe that has made itself at home in the 21st century. It draws the rich, the famous and those seeking the kind of lifestyle usually only found on the silver screen.

Hello everyone, this is David Hill with New York Habitat ( http://www.nyhabitat.com ). Let's explore the fun things to do in the winter in New York through a new video guide from New York Habitat. Don't forget to check out other video tours showing you free things to do in New York, like great views http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNiT3M14Sg0 or free museums and musical events http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn2ZGdojDEk Restaurant Week: One great yearly event takes place for two full weeks at the end of January and beginning of February. It's called Restaurant Week. The trendiest and best restaurants in New York serve their most delicious 3-course meals for one flat price, usually around $25 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Ice Skating Rinks: The ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center attracts many people each year. The rink is located in the center of the Rockefeller Center complex of buildings between 47th and 50th Streets and between 5th and 7th Avenues. It can accommodate up to 150 skaters and is open from October to April. Skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park on a magical winter night can give you a picturesque view of the city. New York Fashion Week: Besides the ice skating rink, Briant Park also hosts the New York Fashion Week; held in mid-February. Journalists, editors and celebrities gather here to view top fashion designers present their fall collections and dress up the night! You might run into a celebrity, you never know! For more information about the schedule of events, check out the fashion week website. Chinese New Year: Chinese New Year begins anytime between late January and mid-February depending on the lunar calendar and Chinatown is the epicenter of the celebrations for this fun and happy holiday. Each year is represented by a different symbol or animal and giant colorful figures of tigers, dragons, monkeys, pigs and snakes are paraded down the streets of Chinatown. Madison Square Garden: Few cities have an arena right in the middle of town, but in New York you'll find Madison Square Garden between 7th and 8th Ave at 32nd Street in Midtown Manhattan. Check out their online calendar. They've got fantastic events going on all winter long - Barnum & Bailey Circus, the Cirque du Soleil, the annual Westminster Dog Show and of course, the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers for all those basketball and hockey fans out there. New York Wine Expo: At the end of February - beginning of March the Jacob K. Javits Center presents the New York Wine Expo, a 3-day exposition of over 600 wines from over 170 top wine makers around the world. Don't miss this great opportunity to taste some of the best wines all at once and even ask questions to the wine experts. St. Patrick's Day Parade: One fun and meaningful event in New York City is the St. Patrick's Day Parade, which occurs every year on March 17 to honor Saint Patrick and to celebrate Irish Heritage and Culture. https://www.expedia.com/Mexico-City.d178285.Destination-Travel-Guides Mexico City is one of the financial powerhouses and cultural capitals of Latin America; it’s also a city of color. Mexico City’s colors run deepest in the main square, the Zócalo, once the epicenter of the Mexican Civilization. Today, this area is presided over by a temple of a different kind, The Metropolitan Cathedral. Throughout the Centro Histórico district, over 1500 heritage buildings vie for your attention. The streets of this district overflow with museums and galleries. For a window into the life and color of yesteryear, visit the fabulous Museo Franz Mayer. For a change of color, head to Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. The park is home to cultural institutions such as the Auditorio Nacional and the Museum of Anthropology, as well as the popular Chapultepec Zoo. Pay your respects to the Niños Heroes, a monument which honors the six boy soldiers who gave their lives defending Castillo de Chapultepec. Today, the castle serves as the National Museum of History. Just to the north is Nuevo Polanco, a former warehouse area rapidly being transformed by new architectural visions, such as the Museo Soumaya and Museo Jumex. To the south of the city is Coyoacán. In the early 20th century the district’s artists, writers and intellectuals inspired not only Mexico, but the entire world. Visit The Blue House, the birthplace of Frieda Kahlo, and the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo, where these two giants of Mexican art worked, lived and loved. Just to the south are the incredible murals and buildings of Ciudad Universitaria, which, when constructed in the 1950s, was the city’s largest single building project since the time of the Aztecs. The spirit of bohemia continues amid the sophisticated hues and beauty of districts such as Roma and Condesa. At Xochimilco, simply float away on a riot of color on the last of the city’s Aztec canals. In Mexico City there is color everywhere, and once you experience it, your memories will never fade.
